2 Calibration Calibration is done by measuring the sensor at multiple temperatures and pressures. Uncorrected data from the A/D converter is read out thru a digital I/O for each data point. The external calibration computer then determines the minimum error and loads the order of the correction in pressure and temperature and correction coefficients into EEPROM. Verification of the calibration can then be performed to verify calibration accuracy as desired. Fig. 3. Linearity correction capability of co-integrated sensor system.

The EEPROM floating gate is then deposited using a doped LPCVD polysilicon film. The floating gate polysilicon is patterned and etched so that it also forms the bottom fixed plate of the capacitive pressure sensor. The isolation of the fixed electrode to the substrate is provided by the CMOS field oxide isolation. The CMOS transistor gate oxide is then deposited followed by the gate polysilicon deposition. Due to this high amount of KSI accidents occur in combination with rollover (especially with SUVs) there are discussions about rollover safety systems for new vehicles. Especially for SUVs there is a lot of discussion going on. To be able to compare useful rollover safety strategies it is important to define rollover resistance measuring methods. Therefore the NHFSA has done a socalled “New Car Assessment Program”. The goal of this program was to find rules for the customer to assess the resistance of a car against rollover.
